In a significant operation against the illegal drug trade, Hyderabad's law enforcement agencies have disrupted a well-organized interstate drug peddling network, seizing a substantial quantity of contraband and apprehending key players. This bust, with a total haul of 11 kilograms of ganja valued at Rs 5.50 lakh, sheds light on the intricate web of narcotics trafficking spanning multiple states.
The operation, a collaborative effort between the Commissioners Task Force and the IS Sadan police, targeted a syndicate operating between Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Hyderabad. The accused, Syed Firdous and Mohammad Khadar, had orchestrated a supply chain, sourcing the ganja from Nagpur and distributing it to customers in Hyderabad. Firdous, an auto driver from Hyderabad's Qalender Nagar, utilized his local connections to find buyers, while his stepfather, Khadar, and stepbrother, BJCL, sourced the drugs from Nagpur.
The syndicate's operation was intricate. Khadar and BJCL traveled to Nagpur to procure 13 kilograms of ganja, spending Rs. 13,000 per kilogram. They also acquired stolen cell phones, intending to sell them in Hyderabad. Firdous then took charge of the distribution, securing orders from sub-peddlers Sajju and Yousuf. The plan was nearly executed, with Firdous sending BJCL to deliver 2 kilograms of ganja and the stolen phones to Yousuf. However, the authorities, acting on a tip-off, intervened just in time, arresting the accused and seizing the contraband.
This successful operation underscores the importance of inter-agency collaboration in combating drug trafficking. With the accused in custody and a substantial amount of drugs off the streets, the police have dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade. The investigation continues, with the authorities determined to unravel the full extent of this interstate drug network and bring all involved to justice.
