In a powerful display of unity against the scourge of drug abuse, Andhra Loyola College (ALC) in Vijayawada joined forces with the Elite Anti-narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) to host a transformative awareness programme. The event, focused on the illicit trafficking of ganja and drug abuse, aimed to arm the youth with knowledge and courage, empowering them to say no to drugs and yes to a brighter future.
Inspector General of Police of EAGLE, Ake Ravi Krishna, delivered a stirring message, urging the students to be the guardians of their generation. "Stay alert, stay clean, and fight against the vices that threaten our society," he said, emphasizing the importance of individual choices in shaping a better tomorrow. The event also featured motivational speeches from prominent figures, including KGV Saritha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, who stressed community vigilance, and Nagesh Babu, Superintendent of Police, EAGLE, who encouraged students to actively participate in crime prevention.
The highlight of the programme was the recognition of students who completed the Certificate Course on Narcotic Drugs, offered by ALC's Department of Chemistry. This course, integrated into the Ethics and Value Education curriculum, equips students with a comprehensive understanding of narcotics, their impact, and the legal frameworks surrounding them. By engaging students in such initiatives, ALC fosters a culture of responsibility and awareness, ensuring that the youth are well-prepared to tackle real-world challenges.
As the event concluded, the Eagle Cell of Andhra Loyola College expressed gratitude to the college administration and staff for their dedication to this cause. This collaborative effort between ALC and EAGLE marks a significant step towards creating a drug-free society, where educated youth lead the charge against illicit substances.
