In a significant technological leap, the Hyderabad Police have introduced an AI-powered system to transform duty allocation for the City Armed Reserve (CAR), marking a departure from manual processes. This innovative approach promises to enhance efficiency, transparency, and fairness in the force's administrative operations.

The new system, unveiled by Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, is a remarkable achievement, developed in just two months. It replaces the outdated, error-prone manual allocation method, which often invited allegations of bias. The AI platform employs the Hungarian Method, an optimization algorithm, to allocate duties based on various objective criteria, including seniority, service duration, rewards, disciplinary records, and health scores. This ensures a fair and transparent process, freeing senior officers from mundane administrative tasks and enabling them to concentrate on core policing duties.

The AI system's inaugural run successfully processed a substantial 1,796 applications, resulting in the allocation of 208 duties across diverse categories, such as the Secretariat, Chief Minister's Office, traffic management, and interceptor vehicles. This efficient handling of administrative complexities by the AI system allows police personnel to dedicate their full attention to policing. The launch event witnessed the distribution of duty allotment orders generated by the AI system to CAR constables, with key police officials in attendance, including Additional Commissioners M. Srinivas and Tafseer Iqbal, and Joint Commissioners D. Joel Davis and Swetha.

Commissioner Sajjanar's vision is clear: "We aim to harness artificial intelligence to streamline administrative tasks, allowing our officers to focus solely on their primary duty of policing." This initiative underscores the Hyderabad Police's commitment to embracing technology for more effective and impartial policing, setting a precedent for other departments to follow suit in modernizing their operations.
