In a bold move to combat the rising tide of cyber fraud, the Hyderabad police have launched a comprehensive cybercrime awareness campaign, "Jaagrut Hyderabad a Surakshit Hyderabad," aiming to educate and empower citizens across the state. With cybercriminals exploiting fear and greed, the initiative couldn't be more timely.

The campaign's launch at a Kavadiguda residential complex marked the beginning of a grassroots movement. A dedicated network of 'cyber ambassadors' comprising residents, students, and professionals has been established. These ambassadors, armed with digital safety training, will become the city's first line of defense against online scams, phishing, and identity theft. Their mission is to spread awareness through door-to-door visits, public interactions, and workshops, ensuring that every citizen, from the tech-savvy to the digitally challenged, understands the risks and learns the necessary precautions.

As the campaign gains momentum, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar emphasized the urgency, stating that cybercrimes cost the city's residents a staggering 1 crore daily. Telangana DGP B Shivadhar Reddy further stressed the societal impact, urging citizens to stay vigilant against phone, social media, and online scams. With the campaign's trial phase underway, Hyderabad is poised to become a leader in cybercrime prevention, setting an example for other cities to follow.
