Okoro, aged 43, originally from Imo State, Nigeria, entered India in 2012 on a business visa, intending to work in the garment industry. However, his story took a different turn when authorities discovered that he had overstayed his visa and engaged in illicit activities. The Hyderabad City Police investigation revealed that Okoro's passport and visa had expired, and he had been residing in India illegally, frequently traveling between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The authorities apprehended Okoro within the Asif Nagar Police Station limits, where he was found moving suspiciously. While no drugs were on him at the time, the police confirmed his involvement in drug trafficking. The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) assisted in verifying Okoro's identity and passport details, confirming his illegal overstay. H-NEW, in collaboration with FRRO, swiftly deported Okoro to Nigeria, marking the 22nd such deportation of foreign nationals residing illegally in India.

The Hyderabad Police have appealed to the public to remain vigilant, emphasizing the rise in drug-related crimes by foreign nationals overstaying their visas.
