In a significant development, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) is gearing up for its second annual SHIELD conclave, a one-day event set to redefine the landscape of cyber defence and security. With a 15% drop in cybercrime cases in Telangana in 2025 compared to the previous year, the state is taking proactive measures to stay ahead of the evolving cyber threat landscape. The conclave, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, will explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in combating cybercrime, a critical issue in today's digital age.
The event, a follow-up to a six-week cyber campaign, will feature discussions on a range of topics, from the potential of AI in reshaping cyber defence strategies to its application in policing and counter-terrorism. The conclave will also address the pressing issue of online child exploitation and the use of technology to combat it. With a focus on practical solutions, 16 companies will showcase their cutting-edge hardware and software solutions, including AI-driven innovations in networking, satellite data centres, and camera surveillance.
"The conclave aims to bring together experts from various fields to discuss and devise strategies to combat cybercrime effectively," said TGCSB Director Shikha Goel. The event will see the participation of police officials from 20 states, IT professionals, industry leaders, and students, fostering a collaborative environment to address the growing challenges in cybersecurity. With the increasing sophistication of cyber threats, the conclave's focus on AI-led solutions is a timely and strategic move, potentially offering a new frontier in the battle against cybercrime.
As Telangana continues to lead the way in cybercrime prevention, the SHIELD-2026 conclave promises to be a pivotal event, offering insights into the future of cybersecurity and the role of AI in safeguarding the digital realm.
