Hyderabad's Traffic Wings Get a Boost with IPS Officer Reshuffle

In a significant move to bolster law enforcement, the Hyderabad state government has reshuffled 20 police officers, with a particular focus on strengthening traffic management across the city's four commissionerates. This strategic reorganization, which took place on Saturday, saw 15 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, predominantly of superintendent rank, take on new roles.

The transfer orders reveal a comprehensive restructuring of the traffic divisions. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gajarao Bhupal will now serve as the Inspector General of Police for provisioning and logistics. This shift in leadership is accompanied by the promotion of R Bhaskaran, formerly the Counter Intelligence Superintendent, to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), where he will continue his vital work in the CI cell.

The changes also bring a fresh perspective to the traffic wings. Avinash Kumar, previously the Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) in Bhadradri-Kothagudem, is now tasked with overseeing the traffic operations in Khairatabad and Secunderabad as Hyderabad's DCP (Traffic-I). This strategic appointment is mirrored by the transfer of Kajal, the Additional SP from Utnoor, who will now manage traffic in the Golconda and Jubilee Hills areas as DCP (Traffic-II).

The reshuffle aims to enhance efficiency and public safety by bringing new leadership and expertise to the traffic divisions. With these changes, the Hyderabad police force takes a proactive step towards improving traffic management and overall law enforcement in the city. The public can expect to see the impact of these strategic moves in the coming days as the new officers settle into their roles.
