In a swift and coordinated operation, Telangana's EAGLE Force has swooped in to tackle the growing drug-related crimes in the state. With a staggering 1,278 accused individuals from Telangana alone, the battle against narcotics is more critical than ever. The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) launched a special drive on January 29, aiming to apprehend absconding accused in NDPS Act cases.
Within a mere four days, the dedicated teams showcased their prowess by capturing 75 absconding individuals, a significant achievement in the war on drugs. The operation's transparency was evident as detailed interrogation reports were prepared, and urine tests were conducted in the presence of family members. Encouragingly, 38 of the 75 tested individuals showed negative results, indicating the potential for successful rehabilitation and a reduced demand for drugs.
The Telangana Police's commitment to this cause is evident in their statement, emphasizing the importance of both enforcement and rehabilitation. They aim to dismantle drug networks while also focusing on reintegration, envisioning a drug-free Telangana within the next two decades. This dual approach, targeting both supply and demand, is a strategic move to address the complex issue of drug abuse.
The recent arrest at Mahabubabad bus station, where two individuals were caught with approximately 10 kg of ganja, further highlights the ongoing efforts. The police's dedication to tracking and apprehending drug offenders sends a strong message to the public, encouraging their cooperation in reporting drug-related activities. As the EAGLE Force continues its mission throughout February, the state of Telangana takes a significant step towards a safer and healthier future for its youth.
