Massive Drug Busts in Malaysia: RM200 Million Seized in Anti-Narcotics Raids

In a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, Malaysian authorities have conducted a series of anti-narcotics operations, seizing a staggering RM200 million worth of drugs. The raids, led by the Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID), targeted sophisticated drug syndicates operating across the country.

The first operation, on January 30, resulted in the arrest of three men in Bentong. This led the police to a car park in Jalan Kuchai Lama, where a substantial haul of methamphetamine, valued at RM13.25 million, was discovered. The syndicate, active since 2024, utilized innovative tactics, employing car parks as covert exchange points for drug-laden vehicles.

The second raid, a significant breakthrough, uncovered a massive stash of drugs, including MDMA and ecstasy, worth approximately RM180 million. This operation targeted a house in Kepong, leading to the capture of a local man and a foreign woman. The subsequent arrest of a third suspect, a local woman in Subang Jaya, revealed a well-organized syndicate with international connections. The leader, a local man, orchestrated drug transportation, aided by his accomplices, who were also his lovers.

The third operation focused on KL International Airport, thwarting an attempt to smuggle marijuana buds to the United Kingdom. Six suspects were arrested, including two would-be drug mules, with 33kg of marijuana seized. Additional raids in Bandar Damai Perdana, Taman Equine, and Bayan Lepas resulted in more arrests and drug confiscations, totaling 188kg of marijuana worth RM15 million.

"These operations demonstrate our unwavering commitment to combating the drug menace," said NCID director Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan. "We will continue to dismantle drug networks, ensuring Malaysia remains a safe and healthy nation." The success of these raids underscores the effectiveness of Malaysia's law enforcement agencies in disrupting organized crime and protecting public health. The ongoing investigations will further unravel the intricate web of drug trafficking, bringing justice and security to the forefront.
