The Hyderabad Commissioner's Task Force has struck a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, seizing a substantial quantity of dry ganja and apprehending a key player in the supply chain. In a joint operation with the SR Nagar Police, the West Zone Team uncovered a hidden network of narcotics distribution, arresting a 30-year-old woman, Rinita Raita, with 11.4 kilograms of dry ganja worth a staggering Rs 5.7 lakh.

Rinita, a farmer by occupation, confessed to her involvement in the illicit trade, revealing her origins in Kesariguda, Antaraba Post, Gajapati District, Odisha. Her journey to Hyderabad was not a solitary one; she was accompanied by her cousin brother, Maniel Dalabehera, who also played a role in the local ganja trade. Together, they sought to expand their illegal enterprise in the city, targeting customers with their illicit goods.

The additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Task Force, Md Iqbal Siddique, emphasized the seriousness of the crime and the potential impact on the youth. He stated that the police are vigilant in their efforts to curb the drug menace, urging young individuals to resist the allure of easy money and the devastating consequences of substance abuse.
