Nellore's Vinjamur Unveils Ambitious Drainage Project

In a significant development for the town of Vinjamur in Nellore district, a comprehensive drainage project valued at a substantial 1.17 crore has broken ground. This initiative, spanning a full kilometer, promises to transform the town's infrastructure with a six-foot-wide drainage network. The project's inauguration on Sunday was marked by the presence of Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh and Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP) President Vanipenta Hymavathi, who jointly unveiled the project's plaque.

The funding for this ambitious project was secured through the collaborative efforts of various local authorities. The Nellore Urban Development Authority (NUDA) contributed a substantial 87 lakh, while the MPP sanctioned 30 lakh, demonstrating a unified commitment to improving the town's sanitation and overall liveability. This project is just one part of a broader development strategy for Vinjamur. The recent Mandal Parishad meeting approved additional works worth 2.5 crore across the mandal, including the conversion of a tar road into a cement concrete road.

MLA Suresh highlighted the progress made since the NDA alliance took office, noting that cement road works worth 3 crore have been undertaken, and a dialysis centre has been established at the Community Health Centre (CHC). He also proposed further enhancements, such as a central median with lighting on the road from the bus station to the Bungalow centre, adding aesthetic and safety features to the town's infrastructure.

This project launch signifies a significant step towards modernizing Vinjamur's infrastructure, addressing essential sanitation needs, and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. With the combined efforts of local authorities and the community, the town is poised for a brighter, healthier future.
