In a significant crackdown on harassment, the She Teams of Malkajgiri police have taken swift action, apprehending 81 offenders in just 16 days. This proactive move sends a powerful message to potential harassers while encouraging victims to speak up.

The Malkajgiri police's recent operation, spanning from January 16 to 31, has shed light on the pervasive issue of harassment in various forms. The statistics are alarming: 99 complaints were registered, encompassing phone and social media harassment, as well as direct physical intimidation. The police response was immediate, with eight criminal cases filed and 55 individuals undergoing counseling. This initiative aims to deter potential offenders and educate them about the consequences of their actions.

Among the notable incidents, a bus driver's misuse of a passenger's personal information led to his arrest and detention. In another case, a rejected suitor's harassment and blackmail were swiftly dealt with by the authorities. The She Teams' vigilance extended to a stalker who, despite prior counseling, persisted in harassing a widow, leading to his arrest. An auto driver's alleged harassment of a passenger over a fare dispute also resulted in his detention.

Deputy Commissioner of Police for Women Safety T. Usha Rani emphasized the police's unwavering commitment to protecting women. "We will not tolerate any form of harassment, and we urge victims to come forward. Our She Teams are dedicated to ensuring the safety and dignity of every woman and girl," she stated.
