In a significant boost to the agricultural community, Andhra Pradesh has demonstrated its commitment to farmer welfare, with a substantial sum of Rs 3,077 crore released under the AnnadathaSukhibhava Scheme (ASS) and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana (PM-KY). This initiative has positively impacted a remarkable 46.22 lakh farmers across the state. The recent disbursement event, held virtually, was a collaborative effort between the state and central governments, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu leading the charge.
During this phase, Nellore district took centre stage, with a substantial allocation of Rs 130 crore benefiting 1.95 lakh farmers. Atmakur constituency, a standout within the district, saw 34,233 farmers receive Rs 22.93 crore. The event highlighted the government's dedication to ensuring farmers' prosperity and promoting education for underprivileged students.
The ceremony also shed light on the progress of crucial irrigation projects. The Somasila High-Level Canal (SHLC) is nearing completion, a development that will provide much-needed drinking water to 93,000 families in the drought-prone Marripadu mandal and enable irrigation for 45,000 acres of land. Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakara Reddy lauded Chief Minister Naidu's leadership, emphasizing his ability to balance welfare and development, even amidst financial constraints.
As Andhra Pradesh continues to foster an environment conducive to both agriculture and industry, the state's commitment to its people's well-being and progress is evident. With multinational companies setting up operations in the region, the government's efforts are transforming Nellore into a thriving industrial hub, ensuring a brighter future for its citizens.
