In a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, a clandestine manufacturing unit has been exposed in the tranquil farmlands of Rajasthan's Pratapgarh district. The recent raid, codenamed Operation Chakravyuh, has shed light on the dark underbelly of narcotics trafficking, revealing a sophisticated operation hidden in plain sight.

Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, a dedicated team from the Hathunia police station embarked on a mission to dismantle this illicit enterprise. Their target: a seemingly innocuous farm hut on the outskirts of AsawataKulthana road. However, what lay within was far from ordinary. The cement-sheet hut housed a modern drug production facility, complete with advanced equipment, including induction cookers, mixers, heaters, and precision scales. The operation's success led to the seizure of a substantial 1.897 kg of mephedrone (MD), a highly valued synthetic drug in the international market, worth approximately Rs 1.60 crore.

The raid also resulted in the arrest of two individuals, Murad Khan Pathan and Mohammad Junaid, who allegedly confessed to their involvement in the drug manufacturing process. The operation further uncovered a potential interstate connection, with two suspects, Jeevan Anjana and Shariq, believed to be from Pratapgarh and Ujjain, respectively, still at large. The recovery of a loaded pistol and ammunition from Murad Khan, a known criminal with a history of violent offences and drug-related charges, underscores the dangerous nature of this illegal trade.

As the investigation unfolds, the police aim to unravel the full extent of this drug network, tracing the supply chain and identifying distribution points.
