Jawaharnagar police have arrested a 22-year-old man and his minor wife for allegedly murdering the woman’s mother and burying her body inside their house. The incident, which occurred in May 2025, came to light months later during the investigation.

According to police, the victim, a 40-year-old woman, had opposed the relationship between her younger daughter and the accused due to personal and social reasons. Despite earlier legal action against the man, the two continued their relationship and later planned the murder.

On May 12, 2025, the accused reportedly waited inside the house for the woman to return. When she arrived, they attacked her and killed her. The body was then buried within the house premises, and the accused misled relatives by claiming that she had gone missing.

Months later, a family member raised suspicion and approached the police, leading to a detailed investigation. Based on a tip-off, police took the accused into custody, and during questioning, he confessed to the crime.
