A young nurse from Vikarabad district in Telangana has been arrested for allegedly poisoning her parents after they opposed her love marriage. The accused, Nakkala Surekha, a BSc Nursing graduate working at a private hospital, reportedly took the extreme step following ongoing family disputes.

According to police, Surekha had been in a relationship and wanted to marry her partner, but her parents strongly objected, leading to frequent arguments at home. Investigators said that tensions had been building for several months.

In a planned act, she allegedly took toxic substances from the hospital where she worked and administered them to her parents through injections. Both victims fell seriously ill and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Medical reports later confirmed the presence of poisonous substances, raising suspicion. During interrogation, Surekha reportedly confessed to the crime.

Police have registered a double murder case and taken her into custody. Officials stated that further investigation is underway to examine all aspects of the incident.
