Food safety officials in Hyderabad have uncovered serious violations during recent raids, seizing large quantities of adulterated ginger-garlic paste and decomposed meat. The operations, carried out by the Commissioner’s Task Force, have raised major concerns about food safety standards in the city.
In Mallepally, officials busted a unit producing adulterated ginger-garlic paste under highly unhygienic conditions. The paste was reportedly prepared using harmful substances such as acetic acid, synthetic colours, gum powder, and salt. It was stored in open plastic containers exposed to dust and flies, making it unsafe for consumption.
The unit owner, a 50-year-old man, was arrested for manufacturing and supplying the adulterated paste to local shops, restaurants, and catering businesses for profit.
In a separate case, authorities seized hundreds of kilograms of decomposed goat and sheep meat that had been stored for long periods in deep freezers.
Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against those involved, and further investigations are ongoing to ensure public health and safety.
