The CBSE board exams are one of the most stressful times of the year for students. With the CBSE Class 10, 12 Result 2025 dates yet to be announced, students are eagerly awaiting their results. However, many are also anxious and worried about the outcome. What happens if you fail in one or two subjects? Will you have to retake the entire year?

Here's what you should do if you fail in a few subjects!

retake failed subjects.

If you fail in one or two subjects, you will have to reappear for the examinations for those subjects, i.e., supplementary examinations. So, fret not! Retaking these subjects is easier than having to repeat the entire year in Class 11 or 12.

These supplementary examinations are held in the month of June. They are usually shorter, i.e., only a few days long, and you would have to give exams for only those subjects which you failed in.

For those who fail in one or two subjects in Class 10, they have to appear for compulsory subjects only. Compulsory subjects include English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit (if offered by the student), and Urdu (if the student has opted for Urdu in place of Hindi).

In both the cases, if a student fails in the supplementary examinations, then the student will have to appear for compartmental examinations.

So, don't worry too much about failing in a few subjects. Focus on giving your best shot, and even if you fail, there is always a way to bounce back!

These options ensure that students don't have to worry too much about failing in one or two subjects. With a strong plan and strategy, they can appear for these supplementary exams and ace them to move forward with their plans and dreams!
