It seems like political enthusiasts in Tamil Nadu can not get away with anything these days, as a video of a seemingly unconscious AIADMK functionary allegedly 'pretending' to donate blood has gone viral. The woman, Jayasudha, has denied these allegations and has claimed that she did try to donate blood but could not due to medical reasons.
Medical camp organizers in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu were seen in a video recording that has gone viral, claiming that Jayasudha, who is also the former secretary of the Tiruvannamalai district BJP, arrived at the camp on Thursday to donate blood.
According to reports, she lied down on a medical bed and was strapped with a blood donation line, but a few minutes after being strapped, a physician who was present at the camp checked her and asked her to leave the camp. The reason being that her blood pressure was inconsistent.
The organizers are now alleging that she faked medical symptoms to avoid donating blood, once she realized the attention of the media was on her.
This incident comes amid a political backdrop of multiple AIADMK leaders being accused of donating exorbitant amounts of blood in camps, to block the veins and render any future medical evidence of them taking drugs.
As this controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen what action, if any, will be taken against Jayasudha or the organizers of the camp.
