The region usually sees a surge in sales of electric fans and air conditioners during summer, but this year the demand has increased significantly due to the early arrival of the summer heat. Despite the sales surge, many people still struggle to cope with the unbearable temperatures and often risk their health and safety outdoors.

"We see many customers buying multiple fans or upgrading to higher-capacity air conditioners compared to previous years. But there are still complaints about the heat, especially during the afternoon hours," said Suresh, a leading air conditioner retailer in Vizianagaram.
