The ongoing development works at Karnataka's famed Jog Falls will be completed in eight months, according to Madhu Bangarappa, the state's Minister for Large and Medium-scale Industries. In an interview with Press Trust of India, Bangarappa did not provide any updates about the timeline for the works' completion but emphasized their importance for the local economy.

"Development of Jog Falls is important not only for tourism but also for the local economy. The efforts of the government will pay dividends to the local economy and tourism in the region," Bangarappa said.

Jog Falls, located in the Sagara district of Karnataka, is a famous tourist attraction and one of the highest direct waterfalls in India. Currently, the state government is undertaking several initiatives to develop infrastructure and amenities around the falls.

Among the projects being undertaken are the construction of a new bridge between the parking lot and the viewpoint, a cafeteria, and better road connectivity to the area. These developments aim to boost tourism and provide a better experience for visitors, according to government officials.

When asked about progress on the projects, Bangarappa assured that all works were "progressing smoothly," and that the local administration was "cooperating very well."

"All the required clearances have been taken, and funds are also being released periodically without any delays," the minister added.

The state government's efforts to develop Jog Falls as a tourist destination have been welcomed by many locals, who hope to see more investments in the region's infrastructure and amenities to support tourism and the local economy.

"The falls are a natural gift to our region, and it is heartening to see the government taking steps to develop it for tourism," said Sagara resident Somashekar, who regularly visits the falls.

"With the new projects and better infrastructure, we hope more tourists will come to enjoy the beauty of Jog Falls, which will benefit our economy and create more job opportunities," he added.
