Two Indian students pursuing their dreams in the US have met a tragic end in a car crash in the state of New York. This heart-wrenching incident has robbed not just their families but also their community of two bright young souls.
Some stories leave you speechless and numb with grief. This is one of those stories. It's hard to imagine the pain and devastation of the families and friends of these two students who have tragically lost their lives in a car accident in New York.
On his way back from an internship, 26-year-old Nischay Bhatnagar and his friend, 21-year-old Aakash Mallick, also studying at Cleveland State University, were killed in a horrific car crash on the I-90 near Rochester, New York. Nischay was driving back to campus with Aakash when the accident occurred.
According to the New York State Police, the accident happened at around 3 am on Sunday. Aakash was driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata at the time, and the official report suggests that his vehicle crossed over the highway's westbound lanes and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Both Nischay and Aakash died at the scene.
Cleveland State University extended its condolences to both students' families and friends in a statement and said that both Nischay and Aakash were majoring in accounting and were set to graduate in the spring of 2023.
The pain of this tragedy is palpable, and our thoughts are with their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May their souls rest in peace.
