Despite record success rates this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reminded students affected by the CBSE exam leak that "one exam cannot define you" and urged them to not let the situation "dishearten" them.
Below are extracts from his letter to the students, sent on Tuesday, which congratulated those who "worked hard and performed well" in the exams and offered advice to those who may feel disappointed or let down by the situation.
He urged all the students to not let the situation these past few days, with the confusion and turbulence surrounding the exams, dishearten them. Through his letter, Modi acknowledged that the students had already worked hard preparing for the exams and that this situation could not have been helped by them. He encouraged them to keep moving forward, learning from the events that had happened.
He also warned them of the various forces which can prey on the vulnerabilities of adolescents and told them to not get drawn towards such forces. He advised them to not let one exam or situation define their entire future and to keep their dreams alive despite this setback.
Concluding his letter, the Prime Minister urged the students to keep moving forward with resilience and never lose their focus on learning.
