CPI (M) demands special session of Parliament to discuss Pahalgam terror attack and aftermath

CPI (M) general secretary M.A. Baby says several questions need to be answered regarding the attack in Pahalgam and its aftermath, and the party demands a special session of Parliament to discuss it.

The CPI (M) general secretary M.A. Baby has demanded a special session of Parliament be convened to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and its aftermath. Baby highlighted the need to answer several questions regarding the attack, including the deaths of civilians and the efficacy of the security forces' response.

Baby emphasized the tragic loss of lives in the attack, particularly that of a 10-year-old girl. This attack has underscored the vulnerability of civilian populations and raised serious questions regarding the preparedness and responsiveness of security agencies.

The CPI (M) leader questioned the lapse in security and vigilance protocols and alleged that the terrorist attack underscored the decline in the intelligence and operational capabilities of the security forces.

Concluding his statement, Baby said the party wanted a comprehensive discussion in parliament to address the various issues arising out of the attack in order to bolster the security of the civilians.
