The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a free, 15-day helpline to offer counselling and support to students of Classes 10 and 12 and their families. The board acknowledged the stress and anxiety faced by students and their families during the result period. The helpline is operated by psychologists and mental health professionals and will provide assistance in English and Hindi.
The CBSE, in its ongoing efforts to prioritise the emotional well-being of students, has launched this helpline, hoping to offer a reassuring presence to those undergoing stress and anxiety, not only from exam results but also from the pressures and uncertainty of the pandemic, as well as challenges of online learning and adapting to a new normal.
"The results are a milestone in a child's life and the beginning of many new relationships and experiences. It is normal for students and parents to feel stressed during this time, and they must be supported to ensure that wellness precedes success," said Dr. Mini Singh, Principal, Sri Ram Academic Institute, in a statement regarding the CBSE's initiative.
