Passion and courage beyond comprehension: that was Rojo, a dog who served with distinction alongside the CRPF in their recent anti-Maoist operation which resulted in a massive success. But sadly, this brave sniffer dog paid the ultimate price after being stung 200 times by a swarm of bees.

Towards the culmination of the anti-Maoist operation at the dense Korgotalu hills, a squad of CRPF dogs was tasked with ensuring the safety of the commandos from any potential threat looming in the forests. Including peacocks, wild bears, and bees. Towards the evening of the said operation, Rolo, a sprightly two-year-old female, sniffed out a bee hive and was stung multiple times by an entire hive of bees, incurring 200 stings. Though she was immediately rushed to the veterinary clinic at the force's headquarters in Bhubaneswar,Sadly, she passed away due to the numerous stings despite doctors' efforts.

The brave and tireless efforts of Rolo and her squad of sniffers ensured the success of the anti-Maoist operation in Korgotalu hills, which went on uninterrupted. This operation was notably the largest one carried out by the CRPF in recent times to neutralize the Maoist threat in the area. Though Rolo's dedication and sacrifice sadly ended in vain, her spirit of service and courage will not be forgotten by the CRPF.
