'Fitting That We're At The Bottom': Poor Performance Admissions from CSK Chief Officer

Stephen Fleming, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Chennai Super Kings(CSK) admits to poor performance leading to their current place at the bottom of the points table. The defeat from Punjab Kings by 54 runs on Tuesday resulted in Fleming's confession of the team's dismal performance.

This year, the team's performance has been below average with only six points and a -1.5 net run rate. The team has sustained a losing streak, with four consecutive losses in the current IPL season.

Fleming, who played in CSK for a total of nine years. Within these nine years, he was the captain of the team for three years. Fleming took over as the CEO of the franchise in 2018, and this is the first time that the team has been at the bottom of the table.

"It's fitting that we're at the bottom of the table, because we've played like that. We've got to improve, there's no doubt about that. You wouldn't want to be in our dressing room right now," said Fleming.

The low morale among the team has been an issue for CSK this year. The team's main players, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, haven't been able to perform at their best. Furthermore, the team has had to face a few injuries to key players like Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo, who are now unavailable.

It remains to be seen whether Fleming's admission will motivate the team to improve or if it will further dampen their spirits. One thing is certain, CSK will have to improve their game substantially to avoid finishing last in the table.
