A month after the deadly attack at Pahalgam, a crucial tourism center and honeymoon destination, Congress party has found a new way to target the BJP regime. This comes after the BJP government announced the neutralization of terrorists behind the 26/11 attacks. In a statement, Congress spokesperson, Jairam Ramesh asked why the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack have not yet been arrested.
Recently, the government prepared a dossier on the likes of Dawood Ibrahim, don of the international crime syndicate, D-Company, and underworld don, Chota Shakeel as well as Pakistan-based terrorists such as Hafiz Saeed, who was declared a global terrorist by the UN, and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, who hatched the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. They have all been labeled as "most wanted terrorists" by the BJP government.
"Those who died in the 26/11 attack are now being termed as terrorists. Those who were killed in the Batla house encounter or the recent encounter in Mumbai are also terrorists. So, those who killed civilians in Pahalgam are also terrorists, but they are roaming free," said Ramesh.
This seems like a thinly veiled dig at the current government, questioning their loyalty and integrity in light of the upcoming state elections.
It will be interesting to see how the BJP will respond to this attack on their governance ahead of the state elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
