Microsoft's new AI, Aurora, has been recognised for its groundbreaking weather forecasting capabilities, beating its competitors and becoming the first AI model to surpass the accuracy and speed of traditional weather centres.

Aurora's developers have highlighted its remarkable ability to predict the path of cyclones over five days ahead of time. This innovative AI outperforms the forecasting centres in the notoriously difficult task of predicting the formation and movements of hurricanes, cyclones, and typhoons, which have historically been challenging to predict.
