Klaasen’s Blazing Century Powers SRH to Record 111-Run Win Over KKR in IPL 2025

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a dominant performance to crush Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 111 runs in their final IPL 2025 league encounter, marking the biggest defeat ever suffered by KKR in the tournament’s history. The emphatic win saw SRH jump to sixth on the points table, while the defending champions ended a dismal campaign at eighth, just a year after lifting the trophy.

After winning the toss and opting to bat at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH posted a colossal total of 278/3 — the third-highest score in IPL history and their fourth entry among the top four totals ever recorded in the league. The innings began with a blazing 90-run opening stand between Travis Head (70 off 40 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (32 off 16). However, it was Heinrich Klaasen who stole the show, smashing a whirlwind 105 off just 39 deliveries. His ton came in just 37 balls, making it the joint third-fastest century in IPL history.

For KKR, Sunil Narine picked up two wickets but was expensive, while Vaibhav Arora stood out with the ball with a relatively economical spell. However, the bowling unit failed to contain the SRH onslaught.

In response, KKR crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for 168. SRH’s bowling attack was led by Jaydev Unadkat, Eeshan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey, each of whom bagged three wickets. Klaasen was rightfully awarded the Player of the Match for his breathtaking innings.

With both teams already out of playoff contention, the match was more about pride, and SRH ensured they signed off their season in style  leaving fans with a reminder of their explosive potential heading into the next year.
