The North East Skill Center (NESC) has recently launched a new Electric Vehicle (EV) Service Technician Training Program aimed at equipping students with skills in the growing electric vehicle industry. With the rise of eco-friendly transportation, the demand for skilled technicians has surged, making this course crucial for Assam's workforce development. The training program, scheduled to begin next month, targets individuals who have completed their 12th grade education or hold relevant work experience in the automotive sector.
This initiative is part of the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM), which seeks to empower the youth with industry-relevant skills, preparing them for future job opportunities. The curriculum includes hands-on experience in EV technology, charging infrastructure, maintenance, and diagnostics. Special emphasis will be placed on environmental sustainability and safety measures while working with electric vehicles.
During the program's launch event, industry experts shared insights into how the growing EV market in India is expected to generate numerous employment opportunities. The program will be held at the NESC training center in Guwahati and is expected to attract participants from all across the North East. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certification recognized by leading automotive companies. This program marks a significant step in preparing Assam's workforce for future jobs in the green economy.
