'Can Reach Anywhere' Israel Warns Houthis After 'First' Missile Attack By Sea On Yemen's Hodeidah

Israel has warned Iran-backed Houthi rebels that it can "reach anywhere" after carrying out a "first-ever" naval strike on Yemen's Hodeidah port, targeting the rebels who have been accused of using the port for weapons transfers. The Israeli military warned civilians near key Red Sea ports to evacuate immediately or face the risk of "grave danger" ahead of the strike, which was retaliation for a Houthi ballistic missile attack a day earlier that was unsuccessful.

The Houthis, reportedly facing a financial crisis, have turned to Iran for aid, but the Iranian regime has been reluctant to give more support, so the Houthis have turned to kidnappings and hijackings for revenue. This comes as Israel's Deputy Chief of Mission to the US, Michael Ratney, warned that Iran was "closing in" on a nuclear weapon and that the regime was "actively designing nuclear weapons and preparing for a nuclear weapons test."

Ratney added that Iran had significantly ramped up production of uranium enriched to 60% at its Fordow facility, stressing that Tehran was only a few months away from weapons-grade uranium. Israel has warned that a nuclear-armed Iran would be a "nightmare scenario." Given the increasing tensions, the Houthis would do well to heed Israel's warning to avoid a catastrophic retaliation.
