Ben Duckett Fires England To 3rd T20I Victory, Series Sweep Over West Indies

England secured a dominating victory in the third T20I against West Indies, going on to sweep the series 3-0. Ben Duckett proved the touring side's nemesis, smashing 84 to propel England to a commanding 248-3 from just 46 balls.

The visitors struggled to get going in their reply, eventually mustering 211-8, some 37 runs short of the hosts' total.

With aggression and talent, Duckett tore through the West Indian bowlers, smashing ten fours and four huge sixes in his masterful innings. The 28-year-old was particularly brutal against veteran bowler Ravi Rampaul, carting the veteran for three huge maximums in one over.

On a tricky surface, the English top order found it difficult to get going, with the usual suspects of Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow, and Jos Buttler all departing with only a dozen runs on the board.

But Duckett, in at four, was determined to make his mark. The right-hander recomposed the English innings with a flurry of boundaries, accumulating runs at an incredible pace. He put on a 117-run stand for the fourth wicket with Dawid Malan (34) to take England past 200.

By the time Duckett was eventually bowled in the 17th over, the game was already beyond the West Indians. England's total was more than achievable on a good pitch.

But it was not to be for the touring side, with none of their batsmen able to stick around long enough to give them a realistic chance of chasing down the target.

The result was a foregone conclusion by the halfway stage, with England's bowlers doing just enough to contain the West Indians, led by a tidy spell from Chris Jordan and a frugal 3-29 from five overs from Adil Rashid.

It was a frustrating afternoon for the West Indies, with opener Brandon King's hard-hitting 52 the only shining light. King's entertaining 42-ball knock included four boundaries and a pair of sixes.

"We wanted to come and show what we can do, and we've done that," an elated Duckett said post-match. "We've played really well as a group. We've got a lot of confidence behind us, and we wanted to express ourselves. We have done that this series."

The result sees England complete a series sweep over the West Indies, with the two sides now set to battle it out in three One Day Internationals, starting on Tuesday next week at Old Trafford.

"We've got confidence, but we know these guys are a good side," Duckett added. "We'll enjoy this one tonight and then refocus on the ODI series."

The tourists will surely need to regroup quickly if they want to find a way to trouble a formidable English side firing on all cylinders.
