The ITE&C Department, Government of Telangana, plays a pivotal role in shaping IT sector policies, spearheading various e-governance initiatives, setting compliance standards, encouraging IT investments, driving the growth of IT-enabled services through proactive measures, and establishing a robust communication infrastructure across the state.
Organisational Structure :
The IT, E&C Department operates under a Principal Secretary, supported by senior and mid-level officers. The department consists of:
1.One Head of Department (HOD):
- Commissioner/Director of Electronic Services Delivery (ESD/MeeSeva)
2.One Public Sector Undertaking:
- Telangana State Technology Services (TSTS) Ltd.
3.Three Societies:
- Society for Telangana Network (SOFTNET)
- Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK)
- Society for Promotion of Industry and Innovation in Electronics in Telangana (T-Electronics)
4.Six Companies:
- T-Hub Foundation (T-HUB)
- WE Hub Foundation (WE Hub)
- Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC)
- T-Works Foundation
- Telangana Fiber Grid Corporation (T-Fiber)
- Photonics Valley Corporation (PVC)
Core Activities of the IT, E&C Department:
- Formulating IT and allied policies
- Serving as the focal point for IT-related investments
- Promoting IT through roadshows, exhibitions, and incentives for IT companies
- Fostering IT growth in Tier-II and Tier-III hubs
- Managing IT Special Purpose SEZs
- Establishing rural service delivery points and promoting e-literacy
- Delivering electronic services through Mee Seva
- Designing and enforcing IT architecture
- Overseeing e-Procurement
- Facilitating citizen-centric e-Governance initiatives
- Managing infrastructure projects like TSWAN, video conferencing, TSCAN, and the State Data Centre
- Encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting student training and reskilling
- Coordinating IT applications and projects at the department level
- Evaluating new technologies and ensuring uniform standards across e-governance projects.
