SBI General Insurance Appoints New Deputy CEO

Mohd. Arif Khan has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SBI General Insurance, effective June 11, 2025. He brings over 25 years of seasoned experience from State Bank of India (SBI), where he began his journey in 2000 as a Probationary Officer.

Throughout his SBI tenure, Khan took on a variety of leadership roles—from spearheading retail banking operations to overseeing strategic training units and leading the implementation of Core Banking Solutions. His most recent position saw him serve as General Manager, Network‑I, in Thiruvananthapuram, where he managed large-scale business and operational initiatives.

SBI General’s MD & CEO, Naveen Chandra Jha, welcomed Khan’s appointment, emphasizing that his "vast experience across diverse banking functions, strong strategic expertise, and deep understanding of the business will be instrumental in propelling the company to greater heights".

Khan, who holds a postgraduate degree in mathematics, is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA (USA), and has completed a PGDFA in Advanced Wealth Management along with risk management certification from RMAI

Commenting on his new role, Khan stated: “I look forward to building a superior customer experience, delivering profitable growth, introducing innovative products to evolving needs, and expanding our footprint in underserved markets… creating meaningful value for our customers, stakeholders, and communities we serve”.

This strategic leadership addition strengthens SBI General’s top management as the company gears up for accelerated growth, enhanced innovation, and deeper customer engagement across the Indian insurance landscape.
