Kalpataru IPO: What's Next For Investors?

Kalpataru Power Ltd's initial public offering (IPO) has closed, but market observers are questioning whether it can maintain its initial momentum after a strong response from investors during the IPO's subscription period.

The company, which is involved in the business of engineering, construction, and procurement, saw its initial public offering (IPO) subscription portion being subscribed 7.10 times so far. The IPO had received bids for 2,01,57,776 shares against the total issue size of 29,83,594 shares, according to the data available on the NSE.

However, according to market observers, the GMP of the IPO currently stands at 0.72%, indicating flat or negative listing. Despite this, investors remain optimistic after the strong subscription figures.

The company raised Rs. 510 crore via its IPO, which was entirely an offer for sale. None of the proceeds will go to the company or any of its promoters. Instead, the entirety of the amount will go to selling shareholders, partly for reducing their exposure and also to meet eligibility requirements for promoters.

As the IPO is now closed, investors are awaiting the finalisation of the basis of allotment, which will be announced on July 26, 2022, and will be available both on the stock exchange website and the company's official website.

The IPO of Kalpataru Power Ltd., therefore, despite closing, still has many upcoming milestones that investors should keep an eye on.
