West Indies Pacer Jayden Seales reflects on his five-wicket haul against Australia, despite not feeling in control throughout the entirety of the spell.
West Indies Pacer Jayden Seales had a bowling performance to remember as he took a five-wicket haul against Australia on the first day of the Test match. However, the bowler has stated that though it seemed perfect, he didn't feel in full control throughout the entirety of his spell.
"I think the ball did a little more than what I thought it was going to do. I wouldn't say I bowled to a perfect game plan, but I knew as the day progressed the pitch would slow down, and I just tried to be patient," said Seales.
He attributed his success to his patience and stated that he focused on utilizing the wicket perfectly, not his personal performance. "Any time you get a wicket, you want to celebrate, but I was very mindful of the fact that I was bowling in a constrained way, so I tried to stay level-headed," said Seales.
Although he doesn't consider his performance to be perfect, his five-wicket haul helped to bowl out Australia for 180, giving West Indies a strong position at the end of the first day.
"I wouldn't say it was a perfect performance, but it was good enough to get the job done," concluded Seales.
As West Indies look to secure another victory against Australia, Jayden Seales and his bowling teammates will be key to their strategy.
