Israel Admits it Targeted Iran's Leader

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz recently revealed that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei narrowly escaped an attempt on his life. Speaking to a Israeli outlet, Katz admitted that Israel had the leader in its crosshairs but wasn't able to take the shot.

Khamenei has been in power since 1989 and has been the subject of criticism from many sides. Referring to the stalled attempt, Katz is quoted as saying: "He knew we'd kill him." The quote refers to allegations that Khamenei has reportedly hidden himself in a secure underground bunker in Tehran in fear of potential assassination attempts.

Katz, who also serves as a member of the Israeli cabinet, did not reveal whether the alleged attempt was a solo operation or part of a wider international effort.

The news comes as tensions between the two nations remain high. Israel has long been known to be working against the Iranian nuclear program, with Israeli forces carrying out sporadic attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, Iran continues to accuse Israel of sabotaging its nuclear program and accuses the Israeli regime of being behind the killing of several Iranian scientists.
