The Samsung Galaxy M36 brings 5G to the mid-range segment, offering Samsung fans a blend of premium features and a competitive price.
Launcher at its launch event in India, Samsung has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M36. As the name suggests, this smartphone brings 5G to the Galaxy M series, making it one of the most affordable Samsung phones to do so.
The Galaxy M36 launches with a 6.6-inch FHD+ display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1080 x 2400 resolution. This slick LCD screen covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making it a robust option for mobile streaming and gaming.
Under the hood, the Galaxy M36 packs a powerful punch with its Qualcomm SM4350-AC Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC, which includes a Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU and an Adreno 642L GPU. This is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.
The Galaxy M36 runs on Samsung's One UI Core, which is based on the latest Android 12 OS. It also features a sleek design with a water drop notch that houses a selfie camera, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for easy login.
While the Galaxy M36's camera setup is unchanged from its predecessor, it still boasts a robust imaging system. This is headlined by a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro lens, offering users a versatile mobile photography experience.
The Samsung Galaxy M36 is now available in India in two colors: Midnight Blue and Coral Green. The 6GB RAM variant costs INR 16,999 (approximately USD 211), while the 8GB RAM variant will set you back INR 18,999 (approximately USD 237). With this latest release, Samsung India is clearly positioning itself to take on budget 5G smartphones from Chinese rivals.
