Smriti Mandhana, the India vice-captain, welcomed Shafali Verma's return to the team for the upcoming T20I series against England, emphasizing Verma's domestic performances.

"It's very nice to see Shafali back. The performances in the domestic tournaments merit a comeback. Everyone is looking forward to seeing her back in the blues," Mandhana told the IPL broadcaster.

The 18-year-old Verma, who last played for India in the Women's T20 World Cup in February 2022, scored a match-winning century in the final of the Women's Senior One Day League in December.
