Zomato's Deepinder Goyal Takes On The Skies With New Aerospace Startup

Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal, who recently exited the company with a $2.1 billion dollar sale, has recently shifted his focus to a new startup aimed at making air travel more accessible to travelers in smaller cities.

LAT Aerospace, co-founded by Goyal and piloted by Surobhi Das, aims to make air travel more accessible and cost-effective for leisure and business travelers in smaller cities who often have to rely on prohibitively expensive train travel or lengthy and inconvenient bus journeys.

"There is a huge opportunity to increase the number of flights operating in the country and to cater to the growing demand for more affordable travel options between different routes," said Das.

The company has already begun conducting exploratory flights between Amritsar and Chandigarh and hopes to expand their operations in the near future.

While this new venture is certainly a shift in Goyal's career, it speaks to his long-time interest in affordable accessibility for lower to middle-income groups in India. While we wait to see what the future holds for both Goyal and LAT Aerospace, one thing is for certain: the company is bound to shake up the aerospace industry and ultimately become a game-changer for affordable, frequent air travel in smaller cities.
