Iran 'Reverse Engineering' Israeli Drones, Expert Claims

Iran has gained a reputation for reverse-engineering high-tech drone systems, and its latest target is Israeli technology. According to a report, Iran is now in possession of Israeli-made drones that were "left" in Tehran, and is attempting to understand and replicate the technology. These drones may have been obtained through illicit means or even stolen.

This is not the first time Iran has attempted to clone foreign drone technology. Iran previously reverse-engineered the US RQ-170 stealth model, so much so that it is now reportedly developing an advanced version of the replicated drone.

Speaking to Iran International, military analyst Howard Altman said that Iran is trying to master a range of technologies to gain any advantage it can get its hands on. Altman explained: "They're trying to do everything themselves, and if they lack something, they steal or buy it. If they can't do it, they steal one and take it apart to figure out how it works."

The report highlights the growing concern among Western military analysts about Iran's increasing accessibility to advanced technology. Iran's ongoing attempts to infiltrate and override vulnerabilities in Western military tech highlight the nation's innovative and risky approach to acquiring advanced military capabilities.
