PM Narendra Modi Set For Longest Diplomatic Visit In 11 Years

PM Modis tour covers two continents and includes visits to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia. This will be the first visit by any Indian PM to these countries and will be the longest diplomatic trip by an Indian leader in a decade. Modi will spend eight days in five nations, with important bilateral, international forums and multilateral discussions slated.

Starting on June 19, 2021, this trip follows his visit to Europe and will be the Indian PM's first trip to South America and Africa since he took office in 2014. The tour is set to be the longest diplomatic visit by an Indian leader in 11 years and will span two continents.

The visits to Brazil and Argentina will focus on strengthening trade and investment ties and will also involve comprehensive discussions on global and regional issues, including the situation in Ukraine and cooperation in the G20, BRICS, and the United Nations.

Mr. Modi will also travel to Accra, Ghanas capital, where he is expected to sign agreements on digital technology, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals. He will then travel to Namibia, where he will attend the second India-Africa summit. Modi is expected to visit Trinidad and Tobago to hold a bilateral summit meeting and participate in a gathering of the leaders of the Commonwealth nations.

This visit will be an opportunity to deepen bilateral engagements, and continue our proactive participation in global multilateral forums. As the world faces significant challenges, this visit will underscore our reputation as a reliable partner that is steadfast in its international responsibilities and commitments.
