Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be visiting his former constituency of Kuppam for two days starting tomorrow, July 1st. District Collector Sumit Kumar has announced that the CM will arrive by helicopter at 5.20 pm and will stay overnight in the town before returning to Andhra Pradesh's capital, Amaravati, on the 2nd of July.
This visit comes after a month of turmoil for the Chief Minister, having found himself at the centre of a political storm for his confrontational approach to the PM Narendra Modi and the central government.
Notably, Naidu has been pushing for the creation of a high-level committee comprising national political parties to deliberate on the issues of alleged misconduct in electronic voting machines (EVMs).
It remains to be seen whether Naidu's visit to Kuppam will materialise into meaningful political gains to further his interests in the national political arena, or if it is merely a strategic move to strengthen his hold on his former political turf.
Only time will tell whether this visit will alleviate Naidu's recent political setbacks or if it will have any meaningful implications for the citizens of Kuppam, who remain largely agrarian and grapple with issues of poverty and poor infrastructure.
