Tamil Nadu's Tourism Minister, Mr. P. Balakrishna Reddy, launched a unique environmental initiative in Salem yesterday, with the goal of restoring fish populations and promoting biodiversity in the region's water bodies.

The Minister released a sizeable number of fingerlings young fish that have reached a stage in their development where they can feed independently into a major lake in Salem, with the intention of boosting fish populations that have been dwindling in recent years.
