Narcotics Bureau Busts Major Drug Ring In Hyderabad

Hyderabad's Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) recently partnered with the Narsingi Police, Cyberabad, to crack a drug trafficking operation in a residential complex. Five drug dealers were arrested and 199 grams of cocaine, valued at Rs. 35 lakhs, were seized alongside two passports, two motorcycles, ten cell phones, and incriminating documents. The operation resulted from an investigation into a tip-off about drug dealing in the PS limits of Narsingi.

The arrested drug dealers were identified as Onuoha Blessing (aka Joana Gomes), Azeez Noheem Adeshola, Allam Satya Venkata Gowtham, Sanaboina Varun Kumar, and Mohammed Mahaboob Shareef. Two other drug suppliers, Divine Ebuka Suzee and Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna, were identified as absconding.

Onuoha Blessing, a previous drug offender, frequently traveled to Hyderabad under aliases to avoid detection. With the help of this information, Rajendra Nagar, Cyberabad, and Narsingi Police conducted an investigation and received information about a meeting of drug dealers at a flat in Hydershakote, leading to the raid and the arrest of the five drug peddlers, two of whom were foreign nationals.

The TGANB, in its ongoing efforts to eradicate drug abuse in Hyderabad and Cyberabad, has intensified its surveillance efforts, including monitoring airport manifests and tracking previous drug offenders and absconding suspects.

The arrested drug dealers and suppliers are believed to be part of a larger network operated by Divine Ebuka Suzee, who is believed to have fled to Nigeria. A close associate of Ebuka, Azeez Noheem Adeshola, a Nigerian national, came to India in 2014 on a student visa and was previously convicted for two years in a cheating case involving a fake demand draft at Osmania University. Out on bail, he began engaging in drug trafficking activities.

Allam Satya Venkata Gowtham, from Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, was previously involved in a drug case under KPHB colony PS in 2020. Varun Kumar, a former car driver, became involved in drug peddling after meeting Gowtham. He would procure cocaine through Gowtham, selling it to consumers and earning Rs. 6 lakhs within the past seven months.

Thirteen consumers promoting drug use in Telangana were identified by the authorities. The consumers, including Aman, Kishan Rathi, Aniketh, Yashwanth, Rohith, Sri Charan, Prasad, Hemanth, Nikhil, Madhu, Raghu, Krishnam Raju, and Venkat, have been promoting an ecosystem of drug use. Six of these consumers have been apprehended, and all tested positive for cocaine use. Among these consumers was Aman, the brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh, which has ignited a scandal.

Following the raid, the TGANB has acknowledged that investigations are ongoing to identify more members of the drug ring and to apprehend the suppliers and consumers.
