Karnataka Police Arrest Two Suspects in Violent Assault and Rape Case

Recently, a shocking incident took place in Karnataka, shaking the usually peaceful state to its core. A group of five people, consisting of international and local tourists, were viciously attacked and raped on a remote canal road near the historic Hampi ruins. The victims were subjected to horrific acts of violence, perpetrated by three unknown men, described as speaking Kannada and Telugu. Two suspects, Mallesh, and Sai Chetan, have been arrested, with the local police promising to identify and bring to justice any other involved parties.

The incident has rightfully outraged the local population and authorities, with the State's Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, urgently directing police officials to investigate and identify the culprits.

The attack on March 6 occurred when the group of five was out stargazing on scooters. They were approached by three men on a motorcycle, who demanded 100 rupees for petrol. When the tourists refused, the men assaulted the three men, pushed them into the canal, and raped the two women present. Tragically, one of the men, Bibhash, age 26, from Odisha, succumbed to his injuries and was found dead two days later.

The police have registered a case of gang rape, robbery, assault, and attempt to murder. Given the heinous nature of this crime, let's hope the police are able to successfully identify, locate, and arrest all those responsible, bringing them to justice, so that such an incident never happens again.
