Hyderabad Launches Major HSRP Enforcement Drive

After successfully implementing the High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) in Hyderabad, the Telangana government has embarked on a major enforcement drive to ensure that the capital city abides by the rule.

The Transport Department has deployed mobile enforcement teams to affix HSRP on vehicles and penalize those who fail to comply. This comes after the Hyderabad High Court directed the state government to expedite the implementation of HSRP on all vehicles.

The state government has also announced that vehicles without HSRP would be barred from registering in the new year. Additionally, vehicles with faulty or incomplete registration details will also be penalized.

Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar emphasized the importance of the HSRP initiative in enhancing road safety and reducing crime involving vehicles. He also highlighted that the state government has taken several steps to ensure seamless implementation of the program, including increasing the number of HSRP fitting centers and facilitating online registration.

The enforcement drive, which began on Monday, aims to bring all vehicles in Hyderabad up to standard by strictly enforcing the High Court's directives. The government is expected to announce similar enforcement drives in other major cities of Telangana soon.
