As the heavy rains created a havoc in Hyderabad, the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) advised its employees to work from home. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in the state for the next two days, expecting heavy rainfall in many parts of the state.
As a result of the rainfall, many roads were inundated with water. The Meteorological Department has advised the public to remain cautious as heavy rains may lead to floods. Many underpasses in Hyderabad were filled with water.
The Cyberabad Police appealed to the public to avoid travelling to these routes that are prone to flooding. Many trains were also cancelled due to the rainfall.
The Indian Meteorological Department has further stated that heavy rains lashed southern India due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining coastal areas of the south peninsula.
Many parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Lakshwadeep Islands received heavy rainfall yesterday and today. The Met department has advised fishermen not to venture into the deep sea areas for the next three days.
