Telangana Police Strike Gold

Their Shield, Our Glory: Telangana Police Crowned Overall Champions at National Duty Meet 2025

For the first time in the history of the National Duty Meet, the Telangana Police have secured the title of Overall Team Champion, beating several other state forces in a grueling competition of law enforcement skills and duties. The win was announced at the 68th All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, from February 10 to 15, 2025.

The Telangana Police won a total of 18 medals (6 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze) across several categories, including Scientific Aids to Investigation, Anti-Sabotage Check, Computer Awareness, and Dog Squad Competition.

The triumphant team entered the national meet after having already won the State-level Police Duty Meet in Hyderabad in October 2024, where the best performers were chosen to compete at the next level.

Other state police departments also put up robust performances, with Andhra Pradesh claiming a total of 7 medals (4 gold), Tamil Nadu securing 5 medals (2 gold, 3 silver), and Karnataka and Maharashtra, with 3 medals each.

Shikha Goel, Director General, CID, Telangana, and Nodal Officer for the Telangana Police Duty Meet, expressed her pride in the team's achievement, attributing it to their dedication, rigorous training, and commitment to duty.

She commented, "This victory is a testament to the strong law enforcement culture in our state, and we are thrilled to have represented Telangana with such brilliance."

Telangana Police Commissioner, Jitender, also congratulated the participants, trainers, and support staff, emphasizing that their outstanding performance reflected the state's commitment to excellence and integrity in their profession.

As the Overall Team Championship Trophy was received by Telangana Police team manager B. Ram Reddy during the ceremony, it was a historic moment. It was attended by Jharkhands Finance Minister, Sports Minister, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and other senior officials.

This win is a source of immense pride for Telangana, and it has prompted cheers from residents, politicians, and officials. Law enforcement officials from around the country congratulated Telangana on their outstanding achievement through social media and other platforms, celebrating the elevation of police standards across India.
